Canvas

Beschreibung
"Canvas" was inspired by painting and especially by the wet-on-wet-technique. In this technique the different colours and layers flow into one another and blend together - in some places more, in some places less - but without becoming a pabulum. In "Canvas" I tried to translate this technique into music - sound fields, which smoothly merge into one another, sometimes interspersed with individual "points of sound", which stand out of the basic sound background. The instruments of the Atlas Ensemble and especially the Japanese mouthorgan Sho with its ability to produce endlessly long sound fields was of course outstandingly suitable for this idea.
